The Courage to Truly Live
Courage - 5/19
What a travesty it would be to let fear stop me from becoming who I’m called to be. To constantly live in fear is to let the devil win.
Everyone has moments of uncertainty, where anxiety and depression seep in. When hope is far and the weight of the world sits heavy on their shoulders.
Courage is the transcendence of fear. To keep moving forward. To stop blaming others for my troubles.
I can’t let the fear of standing out, the fear of not conforming deter me.
Take accountability, have pride, and display confidence to serve the purpose you live for. Face hardship, obstacles, adversity, pain, destruction, and indeed even death with a smile and the courage to fight.
The alternative is an unfulfilling life full of cowardice and regret.
Am I hiding behind excuses, not taking advantage of my opportunities, complaining that it’s too hard? Or am I courageously, boldly, and eagerly seeking change?
“‘In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.’”
- John 16:33b
Keep making progress. Change for the better. Live the Heming-way.
Til next time,
Trevor
p.s. Many of these ideas come from Ryan Holiday’s book, Courage is Calling. I recommend reading it in full to fully grasp the beauty of courage.
