You Matter
This week, I want to remind you of something simple yet powerful.
A few days ago, I watched a video from one of my favorite fitness influencers. His message was something that I needed to hear, and I want to expand on the topic and pass it on to you. Even if the video is not up your alley, the message is for everyone.
You matter.
You’ve heard it before, seen it before, and it may even be hung up on your kitchen wall. It’s an all-time cliche. But I ask that you give me 2 minutes to show how this simple message holds so much power.
Now I’m sure you have had times when you feel like you don’t matter. Where grief, stress, and depression are abundant and moments of contentment, fulfillment, and joy are hard to come by. Maybe you are in a time like this right now.
Here is what I want you to do:
Feel the air on your skin. Feel the blood in your veins. Feel the beating of your heart. Focus on the colors you see and the sounds you hear. ‘Flare’ your senses and put all your attention into this moment, here and now.
Guess what dear reader:
You are alive. You may take it for granted, but your body is constantly working to sustain you. Every moment is a gift despite the times when we feel it’s a curse.
It’s time to take back the wheel of your life. I know how difficult it can be to get out of a slump, but there is a big world out there and not enough genuine people to fill it.
The world needs you. Your impact can be so great even if it starts with a small compliment to a stranger.
Hard times are inevitable, but always remember that you are created in God’s image and you are loved.
You matter my friend.
Keep making progress. Change for the better. Live the Heming-way.
Til next time,
Trevor
