This week, I want to share a journal entry I wrote to sort out my thoughts on who I am and who I’m called to be. Here, I struggle with knowing the truth in my heart yet not feeling the effects of that truth.

To me, this journal entry highlights the importance of calling out to God and asking Him, “Why?”

And I understand that we all have different worldviews and thoughts on religion, but I think there is something anyone can get out of this:

10/11 - Morning Reflection

I’m not sure who I am called to be. I’m not sure how my major will glorify God and truly fulfill me. Maybe working in a nonprofit or starting my own practice? Only God knows. For a start, I can focus more on my own true thoughts and positions as a Christian on The Hemingway Post.

The question here is how can I let the Holy Spirit guide me completely? I’m too worried about what I’ll do, but it’s not really me deciding that. I mean, who knows what will happen? So, how do I trust the Holy Spirit enough to guide me to where I need to be?

Surrender and trust.

If God has my back, then I’m good. Simple as that. I trust in Him and surrender to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I acknowledge Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I just need some guidance.

Even if you’re not a Christian, take this as a reminder that you’re not alone in the struggle to find out who you are and who you want to be.

It’s okay to have seasons of being unsure and it’s okay to doubt. I recommend writing down your thoughts and reflecting on what’s going on in your head. Don’t worry about quality or grammar, just start writing.

I hope you can gain something from this short post. Sharing these personal reflections isn’t necessarily easy, but I feel as though God’s calling me to do so.

Keep making progress. Change for the better. Live the Heming-way.

Til next time,

Trevor
